The Beverly House by AGA - Beverly Hills

The location is the one good thing: Erewon is across the street, the Grove is a block away, and Cedar Sinai hospital and the Beverly center are about 1.5 miles away. But the whole place smells. My room had a cheap deodorizer smell, and my parents' room reeked of cigarettes. Their sink sprayed water all over when turned on, and my shower head leaked across the bathroom and took ten minutes to warm up. I wouldn't recommend it, especially for more than $100.

For under $100 a night in West Hollywood, you're not getting the Four Seasons. This spot is in a quieter part of the neighborhood and seems to cater to rabbis visiting the many temples nearby. Dining options around the hotel are limited, though you can walk a few blocks for a drink at the famous El Coyote Mexican restaurant. The three-bed room, with two doubles and a twin, is something to see. The place is very dated and somewhat moldy, but it was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the service was attentive. You get what you pay for.

Our room smelled so bad that I honestly wouldn't stay here even for $10 a night. They advertise free parking, but when we arrived there wasn't any available. We had to consider street parking and the risk of being towed in the morning. Even worse, someone had entered our room while we were out, and we came back to find our bag on the floor. Completely unacceptable. Sleeping on the street would've felt safer and more comfortable.

A small, affordable inn with free parking and courteous staff. The rooms are basic but clean, and it's close to The Grove. A good location for sightseeing on a budget.
