Hotel June West L.A.

I was in LA for work and needed to stay near LAX, so my coworker and I booked Hotel June after a client recommended it. After a long travel day, the staff's hospitality made a great first impression. The hotel has a nice boutique feel, and my room was clean with everything I needed for a short stay. I didn't get to try the pool or poolside dining, but I did enjoy breakfast at Scenic Route by the main lobby. I'd definitely stay again, whether for the airport or while exploring LA.

The room, pool, and surrounding area were all great, and the cleaning staff were very polite. Kiera at reception was lovely and cheerful when we arrived, and the man with her was great too. But the morning reception staff on May 4th made my friends and me feel like we were bothering them, and we felt really uncomfortable.

The pool and restaurant feel like an oasis, and Edson deserves a shout-out. The rooms were clean and well appointed, and valet was attentive and quick. The staff were amazing. At first I wasn't sure about being so close to the airport, but you can't hear the planes. Mel at the front desk said I'd come to appreciate watching them land at night, and I did. This is my new go-to when I'm in LA.

We were four, with two teenage boys, and the two-queen room worked well for our two-night stay. I liked Hotel June's relaxed mid-century style and the cute pool area, though it's tiny and has no hot tub. The Aesop bathroom products were a nice touch. Parking is valet-only at $52 a night. The service was great, but that price stings; we found free street parking for the second night instead. Free morning coffee was a plus, but breakfast was pricey. I paid $16 for avocado toast that wasn't really worth it, though, well, it's LA. Point Lume Coffee Bar on the corner is a better bet.
