SureStay Hotel by Best Western Beverly Hills West LA

The location is decent and walkable, but the room was so bad I couldn't stay another night. Opening the door, I got hit with a funky smell. Maybe it was the A/C, or maybe the filthy carpet with gunk all over it. Who knows, it just stank. I've stayed in cleaner Motel 6s. At $200 a night, this quality is outrageous. I was glad I switched to the Moment Hotel, eight minutes away, for $160. This is the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed in. Burn it down and rebuild it.

I booked 13 rooms for our music tour from October 19th to October 22nd. On the first night I woke up with bed bug bites. The next night, after getting back late, I found termites everywhere in my room, as the pictures show. I asked to move rooms, and things improved a little, except for a cockroach in the bathroom. A couple of other rooms in our touring party had similar problems. After I got home, I wrote to Best Western about the situation and my concerns for public health. I honestly don't think a hotel like this should be open to the public. Best Western told me to contact hotel management. A woman there said she wanted to take care of it, so I asked for at least a refund for the three worst rooms. I sent several more emails, then everyone at the hotel stopped responding. The lack of support is what hurt most, even more than the termites, cockroach, and bed bugs. I'm a professional traveler, and I wasn't trying to cause trouble. I respect businesses and the people who work there, but I've never experienced anything this horrible. Rooms were $185 per night while we were there.

We paid full price for the worst motel I've stayed in, and never got even a partial refund after the furniture fell on us. The nightstand was attached to a large wooden wall panel, and it came off as soon as we went to plug in our chargers. The night attendant didn't seem surprised. We later saw that the other side had broken the same way and was barely hanging on. The room wasn't as advertised, either. It was dingy and run down, as was the whole motel. We arrived in the evening, so there were no usual Best Western Rewards welcome items like water. The night attendant also seemed unhappy to be there and wasn't friendly. Beyond disappointed. Do not recommend.

September 2025 The location was a highlight. We walked to the tar pits, LACMA, and Petersen, and the two-room double, 102, worked really well for adults traveling together who aren't spouses. The room itself was very nice, but only two of the six wall outlets worked. I discovered that mid-visit to the museum when my backup battery was just as dead as my phone. We'll see today whether the outlet that does work actually charged it. Not having another place to charge things is especially annoying while traveling. Breakfast was adequate, though it's mostly carbs, so bring something else if you need more. Go early if you want Tang or yogurt. There's no recycling, so we ended up carrying empty bottles all the way back to Texas to recycle them. Kind of ironic.
