The room was clean and quiet, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was exactly what I needed. Just know what you're getting: the hotel is on the second and third floors, with no elevator, and bathrooms and showers are shared. Cabs seem clueless about the location, but entering the address gets you there. This place is a diamond in the rough. If you'd rather feel part of a community than be in a sterile room that could be anywhere, you might like it here.

The staff were accommodating, but the place really needs updating. There’s no air conditioning, and the rooms don’t have their own bathrooms, showers, or sinks. We opened the window and ran the fan to move the air around, which also let in a lot of noise from traffic and people walking by. For parking, the Aiso garage across the street is the safer option. It closes late, though, and if your car is still inside, you’re stuck waiting until it opens again. The lot behind the hotel seemed sketchy and doesn’t allow overnight parking.

The location is fantastic for getting to Little Tokyo and a major metro stop, and the staff were pleasant. Still, a bit of ceiling paint came down onto my head overnight. We had to move to another room while they cleaned things up. It felt a little sketchy.

We came for a weekend music festival at Dodger Stadium and had a great stay for the price. My friend and I found the location really convenient, just outside Little Tokyo, with a short Uber ride or a long walk to the stadium. The rooms are basic, but clean and practical. There aren’t private bathrooms or showers for each room, though the shared ones were clean and easy to get to. We needed to check in before 11, and the staff were understanding and cleaned our room first to make that work. We also found overnight parking nearby at the public garage by the Little Tokyo block, and paid just $35 for two nights. This seems like a good fit for college students and other young people who want their own room and care about value. I can see myself staying here again.

I spent four days here and mostly came back just to sleep. It’s a very basic place to lay your head. My room was run down and the furniture was in rough shape, but it had an oscillating fan. The cool LA nights in mid-September were manageable without air conditioning. Noise was the biggest issue. The room was right over the restaurants on the sidewalk, and the street noise didn’t ease up until 11 p.m. I was glad I brought earplugs. Around midnight, a young woman with three kids was slamming doors. I put up with it for an hour, then complained to the desk and spoke to her myself. She left with the kids. There’s a mix of people staying here, and some aren’t great with manners or quality of life. There’s no bathroom in the room, and you have to use one of the two on each floor. No in-room fridge, microwave, or TV either, but there is a shared kitchen with those things. The staff member was helpful and kind, gave me a quick tour, and explained the bus and metro rail. The hotel is within walking distance of Union Station and downtown. There are lots of homeless people and others spilling onto the sidewalks, but that’s LA.
