The hotel is old and nothing fancy, but the rooms were very clean and the staff were nice. Koreatown turned out to be a great place to stay while traveling around LA, since it's centrally located. It's a reasonable choice for a clean, comfortable stay, though not really a workcation spot. A big Korean market is right beside the hotel, and restaurants, good coffee shops, and bakeries are only a 2-3 minute walk away.

The reception staff were wonderful, and the location is great. There's free parking, too. The room's view wasn't good, and the toilet flush kept acting up, but the staff were helpful. I'd go back.

Our family was terrified during this incident, and some of us were hurt. At about 12:30 to 1:00 a.m., a loud fire alarm suddenly sounded. We woke in a panic, grabbed our phones, and ran down the emergency stairs. The exit on the first floor was secured with a padlock, as shown in the attached photo. We couldn't get back into the building, and the stairwell was set up so guests could leave but not re-enter. The back door was stuck as well. We spent about 30 minutes trapped in the emergency stairwell, with no help arriving. Neither hotel staff nor the fire department showed up. In the end, we had to climb over and jump a metal gate about two meters high to get back to the hotel lobby. Some of us sprained our legs and ripped our clothes. Inside, the alarm was still blaring, water was dripping from the ceiling, and many guests stood around confused. There was still no staff in sight. Around 1:30 a.m., after about an hour, a man who said he was the manager appeared. He said there was "no problem" and told everyone to go back to bed. When I objected to the locked emergency exit, he said it had been locked on purpose to keep homeless people out. That's an absurd and dangerous excuse. Does that mean guests could die in a real fire? Locking an emergency exit directly violates fire safety law. The next day the hotel offered a small so-called "discount." I later found out they had refunded only 20% of the room rate. The alarm kept going, but no firefighters ever came. If there had been a real fire, many people could have died. The hotel's negligence and disregard for guest safety are unacceptable. I have photo and video evidence and intend to report this to the City of Los Angeles and pursue legal action for the physical and psychological harm my family suffered.

I had to jump about 1 meter to get out because the fire exit door was locked from the outside. The alarm went off at 1 am, and there was no staff around to explain what was happening. Nothing came of it afterward. Terrible.

The room was filthy and in awful shape, with ripped furniture, old broken things everywhere, and a disgusting carpet. My daughter, who lives across the street, didn’t feel okay leaving us there, so she went to the front desk to cancel. We’d traveled from Colorado to visit her. She had booked online and everything had looked fine, so this was a shock. The desk person said they could refund only half. We lost $200 per night for refusing to stay in a place that seemed nothing like the online advertising. We’re extremely disappointed with how we were treated.
