Bashford Manor Inn

The tour and the history lesson were my favorite parts. I learned more about the area than I expected, and it all helped tie things together for Lou. I went to an afternoon tea, and the whole thing was beautiful, from the table setting to the delicious tea and food. The staff were attentive and went above and beyond. Highly recommend.

After the tea, Cynthia gave a fascinating talk about the inn's history and stories about famous visitors, including Abraham Lincoln. We could then explore the house and grounds and take photos. I'd co-hosted the 1920s Downton Abbey-themed tea on Sunday, September 7, 2025, for my ladies' group, and it was my first time hosting an event. So many of the ladies thanked me for planning it. I've attended three teas at the Bashford Manor Inn, and Cynthia's care for the old building is clear as soon as you arrive. The lawn and flowers are manicured, the shared spaces welcoming, and every room is beautifully decorated. We had classic three-tier trays of sweet and savory treats, plus freshly brewed tea in ceramic teapots with cups and saucers. The staff were warm and attentive throughout. It's a peaceful, beautiful, timeless place that feels magical, like stepping back in history. Thank you, Cynthia and staff, for making it special for us.

I've enjoyed three teas here and learned so much about Louisville's history. The setting is beautiful, and I've seen some guest rooms that look like they'd be lovely to stay in. I'd recommend visiting for an event or a stay.

We shared the afternoon with the host and her mother, who made everyone feel at home. I learned some history, met new people, and loved being in such a beautiful part of Kentucky. The food was more than we could finish in one sitting, and both teas, one hot and one cold, were great for an afternoon with the ladies. Walking into this 1700s home for tea, I was amazed by all its special features. There were too many to list, and the hosts were accommodating.
