Courtyard Louisville Downtown

The people working here were so nice, and the hotel was clean. The rooms were lovely, and they even provided earplugs for the outside noise. The Starbucks was a hit too: my food was delicious, and the coffee was much better than what I get back home. It was our first stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in Louisville. It’s directly across the road from KFC yum center, with lots of places to eat within walking distance.

Restaurants, shops, and bars are right across the street, but we couldn’t hear them from our room. Room 620 was modern, clean, and quiet, with wall-mounted temperature controls, a mini fridge, a white-noise machine, earplugs, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, a makeup remover wipe, an iron and board, and extra bedding. The bed was too firm for us, though it might suit someone else. We’ll stay here again next time we’re in Louisville Kentucky. The staff were helpful and friendly. The lobby felt bright and welcoming, and you need a room key to enter or have staff buzz you in. There’s a bistro with a small Starbucks.

That bartender was so kind and made a really good old fashioned, and the location puts you close to everything. The room, though, smelled strongly of wet dog. There were crumbs and bits of debris in the corners and crevices, the shower water was barely warm, and traffic noise came through loudly, especially from the corner room we got when the hotel had no vacancies. I kept noticing that smell. There aren't signs for it, but the easiest place to enter for the first time and unload bags is just inside the parking garage. Even with the convenient location, I'd pick another hotel down the street if I came back to town.

The building feels run down, and the shared areas were dirty. There was no hot water at all. The spot beside the bridge is loud, and the room's sound machine couldn't mask the street noise. Hallway sounds came through too, because there was roughly a half-inch gap around the room door. The staff were nice.
