Days Inn Hurstbourne

I couldn't find another room nearby, so I had to spend two nights here. The mattresses seemed new, and the sheets and pillows were clean, but the place overall was old and dirty. It needed remodeling years ago. I tried not to touch the bed blanket or top sheet because they looked so old. The maid came in but didn't make the bed or clean. She replaced my bath towel, took the bath mat towel without replacing it, and left the previous guest's dirty soap bar for my first night. It doesn't seem like the cleaning team is doing much cleaning. If you can find somewhere else, I'd try there first.

For what we paid, this place was hard to beat. We stayed three days and two nights, and the room was sparkling clean and quiet, even though it was near the elevator and the hotel was busy. Our toddler is noise-sensitive and a light sleeper, but we all slept well. Sam, the manager, and the staff were among the most courteous and friendliest people I've met. The air conditioner was nice and cold, and our every need was met. The indoor pool was nice, and the continental breakfast was generous and good. The biscuits and gravy were hot, the bread was fresh, and the coffee was good. Breakfast runs from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and goes quickly, so get there early.

The bed was superb, and the room was spacious, clean, and kept at the cool temperature I like. The bathroom was spotless, with fluffy white towels, and the TV had my favorite channels and an easy remote. Breakfast was clean and well stocked, though there wasn’t any fruit. Check-in was quick and friendly despite a few people ahead of me, and checkout was fast too. Sam, the manager at the desk, was very friendly. I’ll be back soon!

The room itself was okay, and the bed was clean, but the floor clearly hadn’t been vacuumed or mopped well. The building looks really run down, the hallways smelled like pee, and there’s no AC out there, only in the rooms. The pool and hot tub have apparently been closed for quite a while, even though the billboard still advertises them. I wouldn’t stay again. I’d spend the extra $30 at the hotel next door. Maybe new management could make this place nicer with more updates.
