Minutes after booking through Priceline, we realized the location was too far away and tried to cancel. The woman at the desk said she couldn’t do it because we’d booked through Priceline. Priceline told us they couldn’t cancel because it had been booked that day. Since we couldn’t waste the money and needed a place to stay, we drove an hour to get there. We arrived at midnight, believing from both parties that we had to keep the reservation, only to be told the room had already been given away, within an hour. She had cancelled it after saying she couldn’t, then wouldn’t admit fault. Rude, seedy, and completely unwilling to take any responsibility. The worst service I’ve ever had from hotel staff.

The room was musty, the floors were dirty, and the bed looked dingy. When I checked for bed bugs, the mattress was covered in reddish-brown body fluid. There was a greasy handprint on the bathroom mirror, so I had to buy disinfectant wipes and clean every surface. The office felt like a musty hoarder’s apartment, and the woman working there was on a family phone call the whole time she dealt with customers. She was very rude. We’d reserved and paid over the phone for two nights, but when we arrived they had no record of it and told us to book again. We did get a room, but had to pay again. Around 4pm on the first day, the woman called to say we had only booked one night. She had booked us for one night instead of the two we’d agreed to. We were in town for a funeral and hadn’t taken our phones with us. When we returned to the office, she said we had to pay for a second night because she hadn’t booked two nights and checkout time had passed. The whole thing was her fault, which she admitted multiple times, but we were tired of dealing with the motel and wanted to leave. We paid because it felt like talking to a wall. Trust me, you’re better off sleeping in your car.

The owner was friendly and gave us all the ice we needed. We enjoyed the free breakfast and coffee, and the room had a helpful microwave and mini fridge. It was quiet, clean, comfortable, and functional, with a very soft, cozy bed. I’d recommend staying here.

The rooms were old, dirty, and musty, and the service was terrible. My friend was charged a late checkout fee even though she had another full night and was actually checking out early. The woman had made a mistake with the reservation, admitted it, and still charged her.

The newer building at the back was about a year old when we stayed there. Our room was clean and comfortable, though on the small side. An extra foot in each direction would have helped. The bathroom had a slight smell, which I think may have been from construction adhesive. The TV was mounted too high, and the outlet should have been closer so the cord didn’t run across the wall. The manager or owner was very nice to us. The lobby was a little dirty, but she said she was slowly making upgrades and planned to work on the front the following year, 2021. That front area was absolute rubbish. It was the standard 1950s motel style, apparently not updated since at least the 80s, and the lawn was unkempt, with places where all sorts of varmints could get into the attic. If it hadn’t been so late, we would have kept going. The site is kind of cool for showing the history of hotel travel: an old Hotel, now apartments, a 50s-era motel, and then a more modern motel all in one place. Every review you’ve read, good and bad, is true.
