Econo Lodge Lubbock I-27

Jenny was great, really professional, and the room was quiet and comfortable. The bed was nice, there was plenty to watch on TV, and the shower had lots of hot water. Breakfast was good too, especially the biscuits and gravy. I was in Lubbock for a night and picked this place. I'll stay here again when I'm back in town.

They charge guests extra, and the room wasn't clean. There was even a smell of smoke coming from it.

The bed was the worst part for me. It was painfully hard, more like a board on concrete, and seemed to slope with the foot higher than the head. I can usually sleep anywhere, but not there. The room stayed warm and muggy even with the AC running most of the night, and I don't know whether the beds have ever been replaced. The hotel is older and looks like it got a somewhat cheap renovation, though it was clean and the front desk was friendly. Breakfast was okay, with eggs, gravy, and waffles, but the cramped setup had about ten people crowding into one corner. No bacon or sausage either. They said it was too expensive, which is fair, but still... bacon. It'll do if you just need a quick clean place to crash. Just don't expect a fast morning.

For what they charged over Texas Tech graduation weekend, this was nowhere near worth it. The nightly price had tripled to $240. Our two queen room was clean, but there was no real housekeeping. We came back one evening to find our towels had been taken and none replaced, even though we'd hung them up because we meant to reuse them. There was no one at the desk at check-in, just a note asking guests to ring the bell and saying they'd be back in five minutes. That was the situation every time we came or went. Breakfast was stale biscuits, powdered eggs, and watery gravy. At the usual $70 rate I might expect that, but raising prices for graduation weekend and then giving guests this service and food is a terrible way to run a business.
