La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lubbock North

The quiet made it easy to relax, and the staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. We were first-time visitors to Lubbock, and for the price it was a good experience at La Quinta. Some areas were being remodeled, which caused a few minor inconveniences without having much effect on our visit. Updates are understandable, and we appreciate the effort to improve the property. A solid option on a budget with great service.

The breakfast was good, and the price matched what we got. Customer service was okay. But the first room smelled humid and bad, and was very dirty, with sloppy bed-making and stained quilts that didn't look clean. We were moved, but that room's key didn't work, so we had to move again. The quilts in the next room were stained too, though we didn't complain. Pretty bad overall.

Whenever an issue comes up, the manager fixes it and makes us feel safe and at home. I've never been mistreated or abandoned here, and that means the most to me. I'll keep staying at this hotel. Thank you, Manager Lou and General Manager Anita Garcia! I'll see you in two or three weeks. Thank you!

Update: Chandra was very nice and helped us get a different room. Some of the same problems are still there, but at least there's been some improvement. We're only an hour or so into the first of two nights, and it's miserable. The outside looks pretty and the A/C rocks, but those are the only good things so far. We couldn't get into the room at first because, apparently, cell phones can deactivate the key cards, so we had to go back to the desk to reactivate them. The couch and bed are hard, the pillows are either missing or super thin, and the tiny TVs barely get any reception, so expect to watch snow. We also had to dig out and defrost the mini freezer. We'd gladly have paid more for even a shred of comfort. It's going to be a long couple of days.
