Hyatt Place Lubbock

I was at the hotel today at 3 pm, and no one else was using the indoor pool. They said it was set to 72, but it was too cold for me to enjoy, and the front desk told me they couldn't adjust it. One of the three elevators had also been broken for two or three days. Disappointing.

Maddie at the front desk made the stay memorable, and Trinity, the overnight auditor, was on top of things too. The room was a great surprise, and breakfast was really good, especially the omelets. I'd happily recommend it to friends and family, and will definitely come back.

I had booked a high floor double queen through the Hyatt site three months ahead, and checked in before 3 pm. But they acted as if my reservation showed something else and gave me a king instead. I've read other comments from people who had the same double queen issue. My husband and I checked out and went to another hotel. We won't stay at a Hyatt again.

Breakfast was supposed to run from 7 to 11 am according to the card at check-in, but when my wife came down around 9:20, the hot items had already been put away. I'd gone earlier and seen huge trays of food still out. We also booked a King Suite on Hyatt's own website, only to be told on arrival that both of the hotel's two suites were taken. If we'd known, we'd have booked somewhere else. Allowing overbooking on their own site was frustrating, and the $10 credit felt measly for what seemed like a deceptive business practice. I don't know what's going on at this Hyatt, but this was by far our worst experience at one.
