Holiday Inn Timonium Baltimore North by IHG

The $5 breakfast was the highlight, and it's cheaper when you buy it at the hotel than online. Chef Nell looks after the breakfast area with care and did a great job preparing and maintaining the food. It's a solid stay in a convenient spot between 83 and York Rd, though the property is aging. I had no real issues apart from the bathroom in my king room, which was awkwardly small.

Dee went out of her way to sort out a billing problem that was actually caused by the booking company, not Holiday Inn. She took charge, advocated for us, and made a point of getting to know us. She always asked how we were doing. Chef Nell was also engaging and welcoming, and his food was excellent. We had a very pleasant stay, with warm, welcoming staff. We'll definitely stay there again next time we're in the area.

The two women working the concierge desk on the evening of 2/7 were patient, helpful, and accommodating when I realized I'd misunderstood a lodging policy that differed from places I'd stayed before. They helped make sure I could stay comfortably, without making me feel like a nuisance over a detail I'd overlooked while booking. I don't often take the time to write Google reviews, but their effort stood out. My spotted service dog and I appreciate you both!

Once inside, everything felt dated and dirty, and not up to the usual IHG standard. The painted popcorn ceilings had a faint Golden Girls vibe. The exterior looked fine, and the lobby seemed okay, but the halls, rooms, and elevators were shabby. The shower barely trickled, and water backed up around my feet. The toilet wouldn't flush properly until I lifted the back of the tank to work on it. The AC worked well. While we were entering, there was a child behind the desk with a parent who was working there, and the child had a hotel logo shirt on. I stay at Holiday Inns and IHG often, but this is one I'll skip next time.
