We were in town for my husband's master's graduation and arrived after a bad experience at another hotel. We were so grateful that manager Memory helped our family, even though this hotel was sold out. She held a room for us after receiving a cancellation, and her kindness turned the trip around during an important milestone for us. A special thank you to Memory for making such a stressful situation better. Her care and dedication meant a lot. Everyone we met helped make the stay special. The valet, front desk, cafe, and restaurant staff were warm, welcoming, professional, and kind. Our room was spacious, spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, and the whole hotel felt upscale, relaxing, and well cared for. We're very thankful and would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend it for outstanding hospitality and a high-end experience.
We hosted our wedding at The Virginian in March 2026, and the service, food, and whole experience are still the talk of our friends and family. From the first venue tour to checking out after the perfect weekend, my husband and I were blown away. We met Shelby, the events coordinator, for ten minutes and decided to book our wedding there, canceling every other venue tour we'd planned. She's organized, responsive, thoughtful, calm, thorough, and SO kind. The rooms were elegant, comfortable, and well appointed. Staff from the door to every part of the hotel were welcoming, helpful, and responsive. The food looked stunning and tasted great, and the bar service was top notch. We only wish we could do it all over again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue if you want your wedding to be perfect too.
I’m pretty particular about hotels and usually pay more when I’m hoping for a good stay. This place went beyond what I expected. The room was spotless, the bed was so comfortable, and the deep tub was a treat. The crab cakes at William & Henry were a 10/10, and Eli made a delicious coconut cocktail. Thanks to everyone I met, from the front desk and valet to the general manager at William & Henry, the young woman at the café, the manager and server at Skyline (BG—sp?), and Eli, the bartender at William & Henry. I don’t often write reviews, but they made this stay memorable. 10/10!
Skyline, up on the top floor, was a highlight for its food and especially good service. The hotel itself is nicely restored, with roomy rooms and the usual amenities. There’s free parking just steps away, so valet is optional. I was only here one night passing through. On Monday afternoon, the area around the hotel felt almost deserted, and Lynchburg struck me as a town in decline. Still, I felt safe walking around, and Lower Bluff Walk is pleasant. I’d stay here again if I come back to Lynchburg.
The wedding staff really made the stay special. Grace, the wedding planner, and her team did a great job. The server with brown hair, glasses, and pearl earrings kept our water glasses topped up while we danced all night, and the gentleman outside with glasses and light red hair was always checking if I needed help. He works hard and deserves a raise too. We also enjoyed the café, rooftop bar, and fitness center. The hotel feels beautifully updated, and the staff went out of their way for us.
