We had the whole place to ourselves over Memorial Day weekend, since we were the only guests. That would have been less odd if we’d known the pool and hot tub were out of service, but nobody mentioned it, and they felt rather creepy. I’d booked a room with a mountain view, yet one of our windows looked into a dark storage room. I’d also expected a cabin and was disappointed to find that wasn’t our room. The lodge interior was tidy, the employee was pleasant, and she let us have the small continental breakfast even though we got up late. We saw hummingbirds while eating. Outside, the river view was lovely, with places to sit and a fire pit that made it relaxing. There were religious items everywhere. It seems better suited to events or groups; if other guests had been around, we would have preferred to stay elsewhere. At $150 for one night, it felt overpriced, though our stay was pretty good apart from those complaints.

The owners were so friendly and ready to help, and the views were beautiful. My husband and I found this lodge online while planning an anniversary road trip through CO, and it was even better than we expected. It’s a cute, family-friendly place with cozy rooms. We spent the night by a fire in the lounge room. We only had a day there and wished it had been longer, but we’d like to bring our family back.

We were passing through from KC to Yellowstone and wished we could have stayed longer. It’s a relaxing, rustic place, and the stream running by lulled us to sleep. In the morning, the hummingbirds were beautiful to watch.

Nature is right nearby, and the price is affordable. You could camp if you want to rough it, but the room has what you need. If you want to spend a lot and have a place that feels just like home, you might choose somewhere else.

I’ve rarely met two people as nasty as the ones running this place. I’d sooner throw my money away and sleep in my car than stay here again.
