American Boutique Inn - Lakeview

You can walk to downtown and across to the park for a nice view of the bridge at sunrise or sunset. The motel itself has a nostalgic feel, right down to the old-fashioned room keys, and there's a heated outdoor pool. Our room was clean. The bathroom was cramped and the mattress felt pretty hard, though.

The dated rooms were still clean and worked fine for us, and the desk staff member was friendly. We liked the price enough to book again for the return leg after staying here on our way out. It's a small, independent hotel in a walkable neighborhood, with a few little beach access parks nearby and a view of the Mackinac Bridge just two minutes away on foot. There are two floors, no elevator, and a small parking lot, so getting to and from your room is easy.

Getting around Mackinaw City and the nearby attractions was easy from here. What stood out most, though, was how clean everything felt. The rooms were very well kept, and the bathroom was spotless and fresh, among the cleanest I've had in a while. Staff were warm and happily helped with requests. I had a fantastic weekend stay and would recommend it.

This old-school motel has a really nice heated pool. The rooms are small but clean, and the king bed takes up most of the space. Still, it was very comfortable. The fridge is about as tiny as they come, and the microwave is shared outside by the ice machine.
