We didn't stay because every one of the three rooms offered had serious health and safety problems. They wouldn't refund us, and I'm still disputing it. At this point it's the principle, not the money. The first room had no working lights and smelled strongly of mold and must. I couldn't see enough to tell you much else. The second hadn't been cleaned after the previous guests and smelled the same. The third had lights, so we began bringing our things in, then saw how filthy it was. There were stains and dirt everywhere, including what looked like semen, oily handprints, and brown and dirt spots on everything. There were no shower towels, pictures were falling off the walls, and the lights needed tricks to work. A large metal box stuck out from under the bed and nearly took me out. I tried to push it back, but it was too broken to adjust. When I returned the key and asked for a refund, the front desk woman said I had already been okay with the room. We'd only opened the door and turned on the lights. The beds were made, and I hadn't seen the rest of the mess yet. The place was nothing like the waterfront or cabin pictures. The so called swimming pool room was dark and looked like a horror movie. Do not stay here. The rooms and service were horrible, and it wasn't as advertised.

The staff were friendly and did what they could, but seemed to know they were charging holiday weekend prices for a poor place. The rooms had a stench that seemed years old, though our shower tub was new and the beds were comfortable. The beach wasn't well kept, and the rooms badly need updating. I even wonder if the whole place should be torn down and rebuilt. One nice surprise, the coffee in the lounge was better than what we had at the restaurant where we went for breakfast. This was one of the worst motels I've stayed at.

I'd rate it minus four if I could, but one is the lowest option. Bugs were everywhere, there was a wide gap beside the air conditioner, and every fabric surface was stained. The customer service was some of the worst I've encountered. We left right away and got no refund, but it was worth it not to bring bed bugs home. Save some money and book somewhere else.

The room smelled strongly of mildew, and there were water stains on the ceiling with painters tape still up. We weren't impressed, but we'd booked for Saturday night and it was too late to cancel, so we had to deal with it. We also had a Wednesday reservation here, though, and that one could still be canceled. I know another clean, good place with a pool, hot tub, and a spot right in the main downtown shopping area. It was even $2 cheaper.

The room smelled moldy, maybe because people came back wet from the pool or lake, but the hotel should still deal with the smell. The bathroom walls, floor, and toilet were dripping wet after a shower. The water was so hot it burned, and the only other setting was cold, with nothing in between. At check-in, the desk person didn't mention that the room had no refrigerator or microwave. We also found that the fire alarm had been taken off the wall. At 11 PM there were groups of kids in the rooms on both sides of us, plus two other rooms. They gathered in the parking lot and acted like fools, screaming and hollering. Around midnight, my son spoke to the desk person, who said she wasn't willing to go out there and that we could call the police if we wanted. Nothing was done. Someone kicked the wall so hard that my grandson, leaning against it, felt the impact. They stayed loud until 2:30 AM, then started again at 6:30, pounding on the walls and screaming, probably jumping on the bed. We asked them ourselves to quiet down, but a man came after my son, so that didn't help. In the morning, one mother pushed her kids outside and locked them out in the parking lot. Then the dad came out with them. When we checked out, the woman said there was nothing she could do and didn't want to offer any refund. We travel a lot and stay in hotels at least 12 to 15 times a year. This was the worst motel or hotel experience we've ever had. Before this place, we'd never complained anywhere we'd stayed.
