Home2 Suites by Hilton Valdosta, GA

We came the weekend after Christmas and found pet hair all over the comforter in our first room. They were very accommodating when I asked to switch rooms, and the customer service about the hair was great. Then around 4 a.m., we woke up to a rotten egg smell and had to leave right away. I’m not asking for a discount, and the stay was relatively cheap, but it still wasn’t a good stay.

We stopped here overnight on our way back to Florida. The first room was clearly not clean, with pubic hair in both beds and all over the bathroom from the shower to the floor. There was even a dental pick beside the vanity. When I asked to move, the desk clerk seemed extremely annoyed. The second room wasn’t much better and smelled like a wet dog. If you want a clean place to stay, don’t come here.

A microwave fire in the room next to mine caused a lot of smoke during my stay. It was stressful and unexpected, but the staff stayed calm and handled it professionally. Ayalah at the front desk was especially composed, kind, and helpful. She quickly moved me to another room, and her genuine care really stood out.

I called the 1-800 number before arriving to confirm the pet fee shown on the website, $50 for up to two pets on stays under four days. At the front desk, I was told the fee was higher than advertised. The representative was rude, interrupted me, and transferred me to a manager, who said the website was wrong and I’d have to pay more or cancel. I canceled because of the inaccurate pricing and unprofessional interaction. I’m active duty military and was traveling with pets, and based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend this location.
