The room was comfortable and clean, with a soft bed and plenty of hot water. We booked through the Choice Rewards website, and check-in was easy, thanks to the welcoming gentleman at the desk. The lobby has some unusual character, with taxidermy displays of a moose and a bear. Fresh grapefruit and lemon water and complimentary trail mix were a welcome touch after driving. There’s an ATM, a public office area, vending, and a designated recycling area. The pool looked clean and inviting, though we didn’t use it. We had to leave too early to try the complimentary breakfast. We had a pleasant stay and would come back when passing through Macon.

The heater and AC took some fiddling to get right. It’s controlled by a turn knob without precise temperature options, and it took a while before the whole family had a fairly steady, comfortable temperature. Aside from that, we were impressed. The place was clean and decorated festively for the holiday, and we felt safe. It was also easy to reach from the highway. The facility looked, to me, like one of the nicer Choice Comfort Suites.

There were literally only four cars in the lot, and the desk guy had no customer service skills. He told us to check choicehotels.com for a lower price, then said we’d be out our money if the price wasn’t correct. Why not match the online price instead of saying it was only for large parties? I hope you didn’t rent one more single room that night. Never again.

I was surprised by how clean and professional the lobby and room looked once I got inside. Everything seemed new, and the bathroom had granite countertops. Impressive for a town this small. This is the best place to stay.

The breakfast was above average, and the shower was decent. The room and bed were excellent. One of the best Choice Hotels I’ve stayed at, and I’ll come back next time I’m passing through.
