Days Inn by Wyndham Madison

Just a dirty, disgusting place. The room smelled horrible, and there was a long black hair in the tub when I arrived.

The bed was at least decently clean and comfortable, and the other guests walking around seemed like decent, hardworking people looking for an affordable place. But the rest of the building was disgusting from start to finish. There was a huge hole in the ceiling above the front desk leaking water, terrible smells, and stairs that looked so sketchy they reminded me of a haunted house. The curtains had random tears, the AC unit sounded like it was dying, furniture was covered in dings, and a spill left by the previous guest was still on the floor. I came with an open mind despite reviews warning me, since it was cheap and convenient. Wow. The whole building should be condemned and restarted. This was easily the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Please spend the extra $20 somewhere else, you'll thank me.

I paid for two nights but left after just one because of the unsafe conditions in the room. There was visible mold on the ceiling and walls, a serious health hazard. I told the front desk I was leaving early for personal reasons to avoid a confrontation, but the real reason was the room. Even with photos and videos clearly showing the mold, the motel refused to refund the unused night. That shows no concern for guest health or customer service. I wouldn't recommend staying until they seriously address the maintenance and hygiene problems.

The updated room was comfortable, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location is convenient right off the freeway. One thing bothered me, though: the chain on the outside door lock was broken off.
