Staybridge Suites Madison East by IHG

The hotel is well kept and close to plenty of restaurants. Breakfast was decent, and they provide free bottled water, which is nice. The cardio machines will do the job, but the gym has very limited weights and needs a major upgrade. The water machine there was broken. The A/C is so quiet that you can hear everything, and the floors aren’t well insulated either, so noise carries.

This could’ve been a five-star stay. The hotel itself was lovely, but housekeeping really disappointed me. They rushed us out of the breakfast area, shut the doors, and turned off the lights while we were still getting our food ready. They were pushy and passive-aggressive, gathering together to stare and laugh while waiting for us to finish. We arrived a few minutes before breakfast ended, so I understood that might be inconvenient, but I shouldn’t have been made to feel unwelcome. I’d left my things inside when we were rushed out, and when I tried to go back in, one employee started sliding the door shut again and told me it was closed. I didn’t feel like the issue was taken seriously at the time, so I’m writing this review. I work at another location and was beyond disappointed.

The staff were great and really accommodating, and I appreciated the free bottled water. My suite was cozy and had loads of space. Breakfast was excellent, too. The airport is about 15 minutes away. HIGHLY recommend.

Breakfast had a lot more variety than the Holiday Inn Express, where we usually stay, and that was a real plus. We tried this Staybridge because it’s also part of IHG. Our suite had a full kitchen, a couch, and a king bed in its own bedroom, which seems especially useful for a longer visit. The bedroom doors didn’t close quite right, though, and since the bathroom was inside the bedroom, it wasn’t convenient for someone to use it in the morning without waking whoever was sleeping.
