They charged me four deposits on top of the two room charges, and one male worker left his child with one of my kids while he went to get supplies. Total mess. We’ll never stay here again. We were traveling with our children and had two rooms booked. At booking, they said the rooms would connect, then confirmed the day before we left that they’d be adjoining rooms on the first floor. When we arrived, several people were at the desk and nobody greeted us. They looked like they were on something. The keys we got were for rooms three doors apart upstairs. We might have made that work, but the rooms smelled terrible, weren’t clean, and looked old and outdated. I went right back down and asked for different rooms. They gave us one on the third floor and one on the first. That was still uncomfortable and not worth what we paid.

I spent about 30 minutes in the room on the phone with Super 8 trying to get a refund, but the owner refused. He even said he was “filing a police report” because I’d moved the beds in an email. I regretted booking as soon as I pulled up, but checked in anyway since it was only one night. The room was so run down I started lifting the sheets to look for bedbugs. That’s when I found piles of garbage behind the bed and stains on the sheets. The shower was gross. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

We disputed the charges and drove to Janesville, where we found a much cheaper Hilton that was super clean and had friendly people. I’m a Wyndham resort owner, and Wyndham should have much higher standards than this hotel. If I could give zero stars, that would still be too much. We’d reserved two rooms. While we were still checking in, my granddaughter went into the first room and found a half-dressed man lying on the bed. She quickly left and came back to the desk traumatized. The receptionist said they’d upgraded the man but hadn’t updated the computer, then assigned us another room upstairs. Our rooms were 209 and 215. The outside stairs were covered in cigarette butts. The first room was dark, dingy, unclean, and smoky. I wouldn’t sleep or stay there. For the second room, I saw a man leave a room and sit on the balcony smoking the whole time right in front of our room. I’m very sensitive to smoke. WI law says smokers must be 20 feet from a public entrance or door, and he wasn’t even a foot away. We went back to the desk to ask for better rooms, but there weren’t any and they said they couldn’t accommodate us. We asked for our money back because the hotel wasn’t as advertised as clean and smoke-free. They said they couldn’t keep track of what goes on at the hotel and didn’t care.

For the price, it worked for my daughter and me with our fur babies. They’re pet friendly, at $10 per day, and it was quiet, so we rested fine. The beds were a little hard. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it’s a decent place if you need a warm shower and somewhere to lay your head. I’m happy to say there’s a Bible by the bed where you can read a Good word 😇 Thank you for the place to stay. God bless you.

The affordable price makes Super 8 a budget-friendly option, but my stay was a mixed bag. The room was clean and cozy, the bedding fresh, and the bathroom well maintained, so it was a comfortable place to rest after a busy day. Breakfast was a bowl of granola and some apples, not much of a spread, so “complimentary breakfast” feels misleading. Also, the busy highway nearby made enough noise to disturb my sleep. Light sleepers might want to bring earplugs. The hotel has its merits, but weigh the pros and cons before booking.
