The Chandler Hotel

There wasn't a front desk, and all the access was digital, with building and room codes sent on arrival day. We found fresh towels by the ice machine down the hall, and it was nice to have coffee from a pot instead of individual cups. Local chocolate, soaps and lotion were thoughtful touches. The design is gorgeous and elegant, from the fixtures and layout to the decor, while still nodding to the building's history. A true hotel gem. Highly recommend, and I'll stay again. Kudos to the owners!

The pillows were a little too lofty for a comfortable night, so I'd suggest having some less full ones. That was a small issue next to the gorgeous bathroom and the lovely, well-appointed, beautifully decorated room. The Chandler Hotel itself is lovely and sits in a charming part of Madison, within easy walking distance of great restaurants and local shops. The attention to detail is impressive. I'd highly recommend staying here.

The little coffee setup won me over: water was already in the machine, the grounds were portioned into jars, and a note explained what to do. Even without staff on site, the place felt personal because our hostess had left thoughtful touches everywhere. The lobby was inviting and clean, our room had playful decor that nodded to the past, and the bright modern bathroom and great bedding were lovely. We visited in the middle of winter, so we couldn't use the rooftop terrace, but I'd like to come back when the weather's nicer.

We loved being able to walk by the River and around downtown from this spot. The hotel was charming and very clean, and trying self check-in for the first time was easy and went smoothly. We'd happily stay again.
