We rushed out as soon as we saw the state of the room and asked for our money back. The front desk clerk seemed unsure whether she had processed the refund correctly and gave us the manager’s card. My mom asked her to write and sign a note on the bill describing the room problems and confirming we should get our money back. She apologized, but we were told the refund could take up to five business days. We’d arrived late Saturday after a lot of driving, with many hotels booked, and chose this one after seeing okay reviews on Expedia and calling to check there was a room. The town looked a little odd, but the hotel lobby smelled nice and had a country home style. Check-in was quick. The first warning was learning our room was upstairs and there was no elevator. We were tired, so we found a spot and carried our things up. The hallway carpet looked dingy and dirty. Inside the room, there was trash in the bin, and the bed hadn’t been made properly, with the cover just thrown back over it. My mom noticed what looked like head marks on the pillows and shouted that someone had slept in those beds. In the bathroom, the small shampoo, conditioner, and soap were gone, and there were no towels except one on the floor by the toilet. A used bar of soap was in the tub, which was dirty too. We couldn’t stay. Save your time and money, this place doesn’t deserve even one star.

For $65, we got a clean, non-smoking room with two beds for our family while passing through town. Hot breakfast and Wi-Fi were included.

The Wi-Fi is really, really bad.
