Courtyard New York Manhattan/Times Square

We had an easy walk to Times Square, Bryant Park, and the subway, and went to Paris Baguette for coffee and donuts every day because it was so good. Our room had a great view of the Empire State Building and was cleaned and checked daily. The front desk and bellhop staff were all kind and helpful, and they stored our luggage while we waited for the room. We came for MLK weekend with our tween and teen, and despite some mixed reviews, we had a great stay and would return. One street corner by the hotel wasn’t pleasant, since delivery bike drivers stood there smoking weed. We avoided walking through by crossing in front of the hotel and going past the CVS. We also saw police monitoring the area near the CVS.

The team made our last day easier by keeping our bags while we checked out and headed to the airport. Paul deserves special thanks for his help. We arrived very early after a long trip, and the staff offered us early check-in. Everyone we spoke with was kind and attentive. When the heater stopped working, someone came by and fixed it within minutes. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. Courtyard helped make our New York stay smooth and enjoyable.

The convenient location didn’t make up for the cleanliness problems, and the attention to detail fell short of what I expect from a brand like Marriott. I usually choose Hilton, but tried Marriott on this trip and came away disappointed. After a long day of travel, I arrived late and was too tired to ask for a different room that night. There was a visible stain on the bedspread, though I couldn’t tell whether it was makeup, blood, or something else, and the shower wasn’t clean. I slept at the other end of the bed and reported it in the morning. Housekeeping changed the sheets, which I appreciated, but first impressions matter. I hope management takes the feedback seriously and improves housekeeping.

I was surprised how quiet and comfortable my room felt in the middle of Manhattan. The hotel was spotless, modern, and clearly well cared for. The location was great too, close to restaurants, shopping, and major attractions, while still feeling relaxed. From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone was friendly, professional, and attentive. Guest Services handled requests quickly and with a smile. The Assistant General Manager was especially kind and accommodating, and clearly cared about giving guests a five-star experience. I had a wonderful stay and will come back next time I’m in the city.
