The noise made it hard to sleep. People were coming and going at all hours and slamming doors. The hall smelled terrible, with kitty litter and trash bags left out all day. When you're on the third floor, an out-of-service elevator means a long wait and many extra trips. The kitchen setup wasn't much better. You get two forks, two spoons, two plates, and two bowls, and all needed rewashing before we could use them. The skillet was huge, while the cooking eye was tiny, making even scrambled eggs difficult. We arrived at 5, after the stated 4 o'clock check-in, and our room still wasn't ready. They offered six dollars in free parking for the bad experience. If you call corporate, they open a ticket and pretty much tell you to kick rocks. I'd spend the extra $15-20 at the marriat or somewhere else. I wouldn't recommend this place to an enemy.

The bed was comfortable and the room was okay, but the managers treated us terribly. The hotel is a bit far from Atlanta, though it is a college town. My mom got me cats for Christmas, and I went down on Monday evening, the 8th, to pay the pet fee. Somehow the deposit had been returned, either by them or their system, so I paid what I was told to at check-in again. The sweet-voiced desk employee took the deposit but didn't take the pet fee I asked to pay, so I thought everything was settled. The following week they called about the pet fee, which I had to pay again because of that mistake. My mom was upset that housekeeping had mentioned the pets, even though I'd tried to pay for them. The nasty manager misread my mom's emotional rambling as a threat. My mom is emotional and can get mad if someone holds their phone the wrong way. That manager laughed at the bad things they did to us. She told the general manager that we were threatening people, even though we kept to ourselves, were quiet, and weren't disrespectful. My mom had even given the young housekeeper who came earlier a handmade candle. The general manager came to our door, and I told him what I could pay. When it was time to pay, I asked my mom to handle the pet fee because I was tired. They were still stuck on what happened the week before. I guess they thought she was being mean when she asked about the PAWS package for pets. Then the general manager showed up with the nasty manager, who was smiling widely, and kicked us out. They didn't like my mom, and it felt like they had schemed this. They gave us four hours to leave even though we were long-term guests and I'd paid for the rest of the week. I think they may have planned to keep all my money. The manager laughed about the possibility of us being on the street, knowing I get paid weekly. Luckily, I had enough money to move because I wanted to buy something else. As we left, staff brought up a big disposal bin as if they expected us to leave things behind, but we got our valuables in time. They even tried to get us in trouble with our Uber driver, though they had no reason to talk to the driver, so we might be stranded. A warning for anyone planning a long stay: I believe they'll kick you out and take your money if they don't like you.

Breakfast was the main letdown: items were missing, the pancake machine wasn't working, and there was a moldy bagel. Still, I was satisfied with this decent, affordable option. The room felt old and dark, but the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, the location convenient, and reception was welcoming and helpful at check-in. I probably wouldn't choose it again.
