Tru By Hilton Kennesaw, GA

I was happy with my stay at Tru Inn and would come back. The breakfast is included and honestly one of the best around, and the staff were friendly. The price felt like excellent value. The 4th-floor hallway looked a little neglected and could use more cleaning, but I’m still giving it five stars.

After we got home, my husband realized he’d left his Fitbit in the room. It was a gift with sentimental value, so we were relieved that housekeeping had already turned it in. The staff explained exactly how to get it back. My husband called a couple more times with questions, and everyone was friendly and helpful each time. They returned it promptly, and it was waiting for us when we got home. We’d stayed one night on 9/5 on the way to vacation. The room was clean and the stay was great, but what really stood out was the customer service. It’s getting harder to find, and we appreciated it a lot.

The hotel seems new, well kept, and very clean. I’m an HHonors member, and at other locations I get two bottles of water at check-in, but not here. Maybe they don’t honor HHonors? Parking was the real problem. The website didn’t say I’d have to pay, and they require some goofy app that I couldn’t get working. When I asked for help, they just said, “Use the app.” My only choice was to park down the street and walk back, and then it started raining. I’ll stay somewhere else next time I’m in the area.

The rooms are a little smaller than I’m used to, but they’re comfortable and a good value. The beds were really nice, and the location is fabulous, with the mall just across the parking lot. It’s also clean, the staff are super courteous, and breakfast was amazing. It was still available after 10, and nobody rushed us out even though it was 10:15. I was there with my son, so we got to actually enjoy breakfast. The gym is the best I’ve seen in a hotel in a long time. We’re staying here while he attends an event, and it’s been super nice.
