After we were already about 20 minutes into the two-and-a-half-hour drive home, they called to say they had a room. No thanks. We'd made a reservation days ahead, but when we arrived, nobody was in the building for about 15 minutes. Then a woman came in and said there was no vacancy, even though a room should have been reserved for us. She said she couldn't do anything. The place looked disgusting anyway. Maybe we dodged bedbugs.

Fine for a short trip, but in our 10 days the room was cleaned only once. They really need someone to take care of room service. The water flow was so slow that one person took ages to shower.

We made the best of it because our group is fun and not much for complaining, but the place really needs a deep clean. There was an unbelievable amount of spiderwebs in the bar, and the kids were running around unsupervised. In our non-smoking room, the bedspreads had burn holes. We also found barbecue potato chips on the floor, dust on the microwave and chair, a horribly dirty AC, and a ring in the toilet. The young woman who checked us in at the bar was a gem, very nice, helpful, and accommodating, and the owner was very nice too. The place has potential, but being old and a motel isn't an excuse for it to be dirty. We booked four rooms for one night. Last year we'd visited someone staying there and paid $10 to use the pool, so I hadn't known what the rooms were like. I told everyone to keep an open mind when I booked. I'm not usually one to write reviews, but I was really disappointed.

Outside our door it was loud and rowdy, with no consideration from the other tenants. The room was filthy. The quilt had stains and crumbs, and when I pulled back the sheets, there were black specks in the corners, probably bedbugs. The floor looked like it had been mopped with a dirty mop, leaving streaks of scum. It was the worst stay of our lives. I'd never return or suggest this place to my worst enemy.
