La Quinta Inn & Suites St. Louis Airport - Riverport

We stayed five nights while my husband attended work training, and the shuttle service was great. Both the room and bathroom were clean and looked well maintained. The staff were friendly throughout, greeting us whenever we passed them in the halls. We’d gladly stay again if we’re back in MO.

I left just 15 minutes after checking in and found another hotel. The first room was already occupied, and even the housekeeper seemed surprised we’d been assigned it. We went back to the desk and got another room, but it smelled strongly of smoke and hadn’t been cleaned properly. There were missing floor tiles and body hair in the tub, among other problems. The staff came across as disorganized and as if we were a bother, and the lobby was filthy, with nearly every table dirty. The front desk hadn’t been welcoming, though that alone wasn’t a big deal. What made the whole thing especially frustrating was having a toddler with me. Getting situated, then finding a new hotel, cost me another two hours of the trip.

The shuttle to and from the concert venue was convenient, and the driver was friendly. When I noticed late at night that we’d been left only decaf coffee, someone at the desk quickly gave us extra packets. The two women who checked us in were also helpful and answered all our questions. Our room was clean and looked nice. I’d read plenty of negative comments beforehand, but our stay was excellent, so we’ll come back whenever we’re in town.

The shuttle was very good, and the GM even drove it, which we really appreciated. The hotel is near both the airport and a lot of restaurants. Breakfast had a good selection and tasted good, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room, though, was very humid, the carpet felt damp, and the bathtub wouldn’t drain while I showered.
