Sonesta ES Suites St. Louis Westport

The grounds and facilities were immaculate, and the location was excellent. I was traveling cross-country with my dog, though, and felt uneasy walking around because some unsavory people were hanging about. I stayed close to my room. The suite also had a powerful bleach smell, almost nauseating, and needed airing out. It smelled like an indoor pool even though it was nowhere near one. I was disappointed there was no morning coffee. They said I could make it in my room, but I think a hotel should provide coffee. The staff were VERY sweet.

Ashley, I believe, was the GM, and she kept smiling while making sure our needs were handled. My family had five different rooms for our Thanksgiving stay, and she looked after us throughout our four days there. The rooms were spacious, decent, and comfortable. Management and staff seemed to be doing their best to keep everything clean and presentable. We'll be back.

The rooms are spacious and nice, but the lack of housekeeping has left me doing all the cleaning myself. I've changed the sheets, vacuumed, cleaned the toilets, and even dealt with soiled towels and sheets in the laundry. Staff at the desk won't provide fresh towels, blankets, comforters, or linens unless you exchange the old ones. Then I found a roach in a cabinet. They moved me right away, even though my stay was being extended for a couple more days. I think the bugs may be getting into rooms because regular cleaning isn't happening. I'm utterly disappointed and upset.

The staff handled my noisy neighbor so well. I didn't call management at 3 am, since I'm not one to complain, but I mentioned it to the front desk in the morning. They promptly moved me, and the next night was absolutely quiet. No questions, just a very understanding response. I was impressed by how much they cared. The suites were roomier and higher end than I'd expected at this price, with fantastic breakfast and wonderful amenities. I'd definitely stay at a Sonesta ES Suites again if I get the chance.
