Studio 6 Extended Stay - St Louis, MO - Westport/Craig Road

We booked in January for Memorial Day because we needed a kitchenette, but the promised fully equipped setup had no pots, pans, cooking or eating utensils, dish soap, coffee maker, or other expected amenities. The floor hadn't been mopped: my husband's feet were black after less than two hours barefoot, and there was trash under the beds. Food was splattered around the kitchen, inside and outside the cabinets, and there was black mold throughout, especially in the bathroom. When I brought it up, management yelled at me and said guests had to bring all the amenities themselves. We were also charged twice the listed security deposit, which still hasn't been refunded, and customer service keeps stalling on helping with the complaint.

We drove in from Louisiana and had a reservation that was supposed to be paid at the property. They took the payment at 4 pm, which seemed fine. Since I hadn't realized that yet, we called at 5:15 to pay and let them know we'd arrive late, but were told our reservation didn't exist. Every staff member I dealt with was incredibly rude, and they kept hanging up as we tried to sort it out.

The room had a moldy shower, broken lights, damaged electrical outlets, and a sticky floor. At least the beds were fairly clean, apart from a stray hair on one pillow. Around the motel, the grass was overgrown, blinds or curtains were broken in most windows, and there were signs about human trafficking in the lobby. One key card door was broken and kept propped open with a rock. The hallways smelled of weed and stale beer, and the carpets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks, maybe months. The desk clerk took almost 20 minutes to appear. She wasn't rude, but hardly welcoming. Quite possibly the worst Motel 6 facility available.

Bring your own towels, kitchenware, dishes, cups, utensils, and Raid if you stay here. They don't provide kitchen dishes like they used to, charge to exchange towels, and offer horrible internet. I checked in during housekeeping week, but got no housekeeping for two days. On my fourth day they wanted to charge me to hand over the dirty towels and get clean ones. The staff are rude, too. The front desk shuts at 10 pm, so if you need help after 9:59, you won't get it until 9 or 10 the next morning.
