Nova Motel

The pool area was clean and well looked after, and we enjoyed some relaxing time in the hot tub. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. The owners and staff were warm, kind, and always available. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice this motel was, and we're looking forward to coming back.

The price felt high for what you get, even understanding that it's tourist season. The floors were dirty, and clothes from previous guests had been left out. The bathroom smelled of cigarettes, and the walls are extremely thin. If you're visiting the Ludington area and want to avoid paying other hotels' premium prices, I'd suggest driving a little out of town to a different place instead of staying at this motel.

The curtains were thin and didn't close all the way, so the room never felt fully private. There was also no electricity on the side of the bed by the headboard. Management seemed to hide that by putting a lamp on the bedside table, even though there was nowhere to plug it in. I left after one night and am still trying to get the refund for the second night I'd booked. I've spoken with management twice. They argued about refunding me, then reluctantly agreed to a specific amount. More than six weeks and several phone calls later, there still isn't a credit on my card. Avoid this place.

We were happy to be back at the Nova for the first time since the new owners took over. The rooms look great, and I love the updated air-conditioning units. The Nova has always been a favorite, and it's an inexpensive, clean place that's simple but just right for our needs. Excited to stay again soon!
