Red Roof Inn & Conference Center McKinney

We slept so well that we decided to stay an extra night. When our meetings ran long, we even drove all the way back across Dallas to stay for a third night. Of the more than six hotels we visited on our Texas trip, this was easily the nicest. The rooms and grounds were clean, and everything we needed was close by. The staff were friendly and professional, and made me feel welcome and comfortable.

I stayed at the Red Roof for about two weeks while trying to get into Samaritan Inn down the street. I never got a bed there because they were mostly full, but I could get there for intake. The location worked well for me: Walgreens was about a 15-minute walk, and the doctor and other places I needed were close too. Most rides were only 3 to 10 minutes and didn’t cost much, around six dollars in one case. The service was really good, especially since I only had so much money. They helped with small price adjustments because of my situation. One staff member was a bit vague when I asked questions, but I wouldn’t call it bad service. When the vending machine stopped working, another person came back, checked it, and offered me one of his own sodas. That was really kind. Another employee went out of his way to move me into rooms that didn’t require a smoker. My mom had booked that kind of room twice, and I don’t smoke. I’m not sure if changing it would normally cost extra, but he was willing to help. They also sent people to clean when the room needed it during my week in the same room, and kept bringing fresh towels. I appreciated all of that. For a place considered a two-star hotel, it felt more like three stars to me. The people were nice, the service was decent, and I’d recommend it, especially if you need somewhere to stay.

I stayed here for almost four months because of some life complications, and waited until I was finished to write a review. I’d definitely recommend the place. The staff were approachable and tried to find ways to help, especially with week-to-week payments. When I had a room issue, they responded quickly. The rooms looked recently remodeled, and I didn’t see a single bug during my whole stay. If you need somewhere to stay, I’d choose this place ten times over.

Bringing my little dog along was no problem, and the room was beautifully furnished for such an inexpensive stay. It was my first visit, and I’m really glad I found this hotel. I’ll definitely be back. You should give it a try 😊😊
