Youngberg Hill

We've stayed at Youngberg Hill a couple of times, but our latest visit was a real disappointment. As of February 2026, breakfast is no longer served. All they provided was a sad tray of pastries, and that change wasn't clear when we booked. We came for the full Bed & Breakfast experience, so being out of town and unable to stay in and relax made the morning feel ruined. Two tastings also used to be included in the room price. For a country B&B, I'd stay at Bella Collina. If you just want a regular hotel, I'd skip Youngberg and stay closer to town.

We were left in a terrible spot and furious. In more than 50 years of travel, I've never been treated this way. The owner, Nicolette Nickolaou, wouldn't return our calls and only suggested we search online for somewhere else. What happened, Nicolette, did you get a better offer? We booked two rooms with the winery on January 18, 2025 for September 17 and 18, 2025, paid a 50% deposit, and got confirmation. Then on August 25, just three weeks before the trip and seven months after booking, we received an email saying there was a "reservation issue" and the owner was cancelling our booking and refunding the deposit. STAY INSTEAD AT A'TUSCAN ESTATES IN MCMINNVILLE. They were gracious, with beautiful rooms and an awesome breakfast.

The wine tasting was WOW, and everything during our stay at Youngberg Hill Inn & Winery was A+++. We went in low season, so we had plenty of chances to spend time with the owner Nicoletta, a wonderful and captivating hostess. I live in the San Francisco area Bay Area and wanted to celebrate my 65th birthday in the Willamette Valley. Choosing Youngberg Hill Inn & Winery as our home base was an amazing decision, truly the best decision. The celebration couldn't have been better. Thanks, Nicoletta. We can't wait to come back!

A confirmation number means nothing! We booked nine months ahead, then one week before the trip Nicolette, the owner, emailed to say she had more important guests. With so little notice during high season, our replacement hotel cost a lot. UPDATE: Her response was carefully crafted PR. A technical problem? Right. Someone stayed in the room even though we had a confirmed reservation for nine months. When did they book, and why were they given preference? She said she was helping us find accommodations, but all she did was email a list of local hotels. With only a couple of days' notice in high season, we paid a lot more, and she didn't offer to help with that. Youngberg Hill brags on its website about being a top TripAdvisor award winner for seven years. How could that be?
