The pool was the reason we picked this hotel through Priceline, but the listing didn't say it was closed for maintenance, which was disappointing. The plowed parking lot was still very slippery, and at seven months pregnant that made me nervous. Also, for some reason our fridge soaked all our food. On the good side, the room was clean, the hot water lasted, breakfast had a really nice selection, and both the day and night desk attendants were very nice. They had assorted cookies, free coffee, and water in the lobby too. It was a nice stay overall, and we'd come again. I just wish the lot had been salted better, and I'd check the hotel's own site for renovation information before booking.

The room was clean, and the bathroom had the best-flushing toilet we've ever had in a hotel. Shower pressure was perfect too. The hotel has a fresh coat of paint and looks great. Renovations were underway, but they didn't affect our stay. Staff were friendly and courteous.

The manager gave me a discount after I mentioned that I couldn't sleep, which was a really nice gesture since I hadn't even asked for one. My main problem was room 110: it's beside the kitchen, where the banging pots and pans started around 4 a.m. and kept going until about 7:30. It sounded like someone was tumbling tennis shoes in a dryer, and I had to get up. So don't choose 110 if you want a good night's sleep. The bathroom sink also drained like it was clogged, and it could use towel racks by the sink. Apart from that, everything was great: comfy beds, a great TV, and an awesome breakfast bar.

The pool, hot tub, and fitness room were all clean and working. We also enjoyed a great hot breakfast with lots of variety. The hotel was clean even with the third floor closed for renovations.

Our seven-week-old reservation at the Quality Inn in Meadville was abruptly canceled just before Parents Weekend at Allegheny College, but the Hampton Inn managed to save our family weekend with our daughter. The night manager was incredibly kind and found us a room for the first night, with the possibility that the GM could help us stay longer. The next morning, the GM arranged the second night too. Every staff member we met was friendly and helpful, a complete change from the unhelpful front desk staff at the other hotel. The Hampton was clean and comfortable, and the pool and hot tub were a welcome surprise, especially for my wife with her bad back. Huge thanks to the night host and GM. We'll stay here again on future trips to Meadville.
