The inside was scrupulously clean, and the quiet neighborhood made it easy to get to and leave. Outside, though, there was concerning garbage, including medical waste. Breakfast was so stale we couldn't eat it. The desk staff seemed perplexed by several problems: the TV didn't work, our room door was unlocked with the lights on when we arrived, and the tub faucet wouldn't shut off. Maybe there are new owners?

The neighborhood looked a little shady, and the building didn't make a great first impression. They gave us the wrong room at check-in, but fixed it right away when we told them. The first room was pretty bad; the replacement was surprisingly nice, with fresh paint and a clean room, though the carpet was quite dirty. Breakfast was only so-so but enough. For what we paid, it was an okay place to stay overnight.

I booked this motel in a rush without seeing it first, and from outside it looked like a dump, almost like rooms rented by the hour. The very tiny Indian (Dot not a feather) girl at the desk was really nice. Inside, it still wasn't great, but the bed linen and bathroom were clean. I couldn't find toilet paper, called down, and had it in hand in under two minutes. Good service. I paid $75 including tax, which didn't feel worth it, but it was quiet and nobody bothered me. The furniture was scratched, though clean, and I didn't see bugs, or they at least had the decency not to show themselves. The neighborhood could be better, but what the heck.

The staff and customer service were very good, and the area wasn't as bad as I'd expected from some of the reviews. Still, I relied too much on the pictures and the room surprised me. At $78, I knew not to expect luxury, but the sheets and towels had a lot of what looked like pubic hair on them. The room was clean but looked dirty, like a roach motel without the roaches. We slept on top of the bed fully clothed. If there'd been a better room within our budget, I might have gone elsewhere, but the whole city was booked near where we needed to be, so we had to tough it out.
