Westgate Painted Mountain Golf Resort

The bathrooms looked a little dingy and could use an update, though it didn’t take much away from the stay. The price was good for what we got, and we’d consider coming back. Our room was very clean and thoughtfully arranged, so it was comfortable and easy to enjoy. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful the whole time.

We were here for four nights for our kid’s soccer tournament in Mesa and had a very good stay. The location worked well, about 20-30 minutes from the fields, zoo, and other attractions nearby. Staff were friendly and quick to help. They didn’t clean the room every day, but gave us fresh towels and toiletries when we asked. The full kitchen let us buy groceries and cook, plus run laundry and dishes, which saved us a lot compared with eating out every meal. The room was spacious. The couch cushions were worn, but it was comfortable and pulled out into a bed for the kids. The TVs could use an update, though they did the job. The resort was clean and had a fantastic heated pool, hot tub, pickleball court, and basketball court. There were outdoor gathering areas with table fire pits and grills, though we didn’t use those. They also had daily kids’ activities like building birdhouses and a cookie social, but we didn’t attend, so I can’t say how fun they were. If you want a brand-new room, room service, and a traditional hotel experience, this might not be the place. For the kind of stay we wanted, we were happy and would come back.

The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, and the shower and tub had strong pressure and hot water. It was quiet overnight, and texting the staff was easy and got a quick reply. My 18-year-old and I stayed four nights in February 2026. There were several issues, though. A previous guest had blocked the latch on the connecting door, so someone next door could have entered our room. I texted staff and maintenance repaired it. Some outlets didn’t work, and I didn’t realize my phone hadn’t charged overnight. One morning, about 8 ounces of water came out of the AC vent, with some landing on my son’s phone. Maintenance came while we were out after I texted. That evening, I got a text saying the front desk had treats and drinks. I thought it might be an apology for the problems, but it turned out to be a general message asking everyone to buy treats and drinks. We could hear the neighbors’ entire conversations in our room, though luckily they went to bed early, so it wasn’t an overnight issue. During our stay, we got a couple of half-hearted apologies. I thought they should have asked what else they could do to make things right and offered something small for the hassle. At checkout, I reminded them about the outlets, so hopefully they’ll fix them for future guests.

The room was clean and very nice, and the staff were friendly. The place is beautiful and conveniently located. We especially liked the pool and hot tub, open from 8-10, which was a big plus. I’d definitely stay again.
