Hotel Continental Miami Beach, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

We were there for two nights over a busy holiday weekend, and the room was comfortable and clean. Julian, Martina, Leandro, and the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. We were on the second floor and didn't hear any rooftop construction. The beach is just a block away. We skipped the pool and hotel dining, but Primo’s cafe next door had great empanadas. I'd stay here again, and probably will.

The beach is across the street, and the location and cool hotel vibe are real pluses. They also provide beach chairs, towels, and free bike rentals. The staff were friendly and doing their best, but the building has serious issues that need attention. We had to change rooms because of a major roof leak through the bathroom ceiling, and another guest got stuck in a broken elevator. The front desk was under pressure trying to deal with it all. Downstairs, the bar had no running water and the taps weren't working properly. The bartender was great, though, and had to run up and down the hall to make our drinks.

The Dive Bar was the best part of my stay. Nicolas, my server from Argentina, was attentive, kind, and genuinely welcoming. His service was a 10/10. I was comfortable at the hotel too, and the A/C gets wonderfully cold after a day in the Miami heat. I highly recommend it.

The hotel is cute and nicely themed, but the service let us down. The two men at the front desk weren't very helpful. They said breakfast ran until noon, but it actually ends at 10. We could get only 30 extra minutes for late checkout, which seemed odd. I also didn't realize there was a $35 destination fee until it showed up on the bill. When I asked if it could go toward food, Julian said no, and he also said they don't honor the Hilton guarantee. Could you email me a receipt? I think I was overcharged. I expected only that $35 fee, but see a $42.30 charge. Julian said we had a $15 credit, which we used on coffee, and that's all we bought. Hilton has a satisfaction guarantee, and I'm not satisfied. Please let me know what the charge was for.
