Kimpton Hotel Palomar South Beach by IHG

The rooftop pool and patio were seriously nice, and the food at the hotel restaurant was very good. There are two bars, plus a social hour with complimentary wine and lemonade. At check-in they gave us free wine and let us use the pool before our room was ready. The lobby also had eucalyptus towels and cucumber water. When we asked for hot water for tea, they offered to bring a kettle to our room. The staff were great. Facundo was awesome, Leo made great drinks, Jake was friendly and knew a lot, and Denise was funny and knowledgeable. She gave us a complimentary tour of the area. We also met the GM, who was very nice and informative. Everyone was accommodating. We’d love to visit again, thanks for having us!

It was easy to explore Miami from the Palomar, whether on foot or using the nearby public transport. The hotel shuttle goes to the beach, where guests get free access, and to other parts of South Beach. Denise, who drives it, knows the area well and has plenty of recommendations. There’s a yoga mat in each room, wellness events such as Sunday morning yoga, and a 24-hour gym with complimentary face towels. The rooms are spacious, the minibar is well stocked, and the staff are friendly and attentive. A few things to know: there are no tea or coffee facilities in the rooms, but free coffee and tea are served in reception each morning. There’s also an evening happy hour with free wine and sangria. The bar closed around 7 when we were there, though I’m not sure if that was seasonal, so a late nightcap might not be possible. It didn’t affect our stay, but it may matter if you’re used to other hotels. A well-rounded place to stay if you want to explore the city as well as the beach.

I recommend this hotel to friends and family whenever they visit Miami, and it’s my favorite place to stay. Ask for Daniella. She’s amazing and makes every visit seamless, always going above and beyond. Every stay has been perfect thanks to her.
