The Penguin Hotel

We were on the ground floor with our two children. The room was clean and a good size, and the AC worked well, though it was loud. Valet parking was good, but they scratched my hire car. Ocean Dr was closed because of the airshow, so we had to walk to the road behind or over to Collins Ave. It wasn’t a major issue, but it was inconvenient with the kids. Great hotel in a great location.

Carmen was a pleasure throughout our stay and always made sure we had what we needed. The hotel also provides beach towels, access to a rooftop pool, and welcome drinks. Penguin Hotel is in a great spot, about a two-minute walk from the beach, close to public transportation for getting to other neighborhoods, and near shops and restaurants. We had an amazing stay. If you’re after an affordable, quality hotel in Miami, stay here!

The Penguin has a fantastic spot right by the ocean, with a great beach just steps away and restaurants all around. We also enjoyed the sister hotel’s rooftop pool, where we sunbathed and had delicious drinks. The building is older and a bit rough around the edges, though repairs and renovations are underway and look promising. The staff were accommodating when early check-in wasn’t possible. They held our luggage and called as soon as the room was ready, well before the usual check-in time. It was clear they made an effort to get it sorted quickly. I’d consider The Penguin again on a future Miami Beach trip.

The location is hard to beat, right across from the ocean, and everything felt quiet and relaxing. Even the other guests were friendly, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well kept. The staff were especially kind and went out of their way to help us. We had a wonderful stay at the Penguin Hotel and would gladly return or recommend it for a stress-free getaway.
