The air conditioning runs constantly, so the apartment gets freezing at night. I woke up with a very sore throat on my second day. The garden outside is neglected, and cleanliness isn’t a strong point. The rooms are tiny and the bathroom is shared. There are no chairs, tables, or anything useful to use in the kitchen. I wouldn’t recommend the apartment; it isn’t worth the price. Depending on the season and deals, you can find much better places in the same area for a little more or even the same amount.
For your safety and peace of mind, I’d stay somewhere else. I found my experience at Casa Wynwood deeply unsettling and unsafe. On Saturday, February 7, at about 8:00 PM, a man named Carlos, who said he was the owner, asked me to turn my music down. It was playing from my iPhone and wasn’t loud, but I did as he asked without any issue. Then, around 8:30 the next morning, Sunday, Carlos came into my room without permission while I was still in bed. He demanded that I leave immediately and said checkout was “now.” I’d had no warning or chance to gather myself, and it felt like my boundaries and safety as a guest didn’t matter. He acted aggressively and threateningly. He bumped into me physically, flinched toward me in an intimidating way, and put his hands on me. I felt unsafe and had to defend myself verbally. It was confrontational and alarming, not a professional interaction. I didn’t call the police then because I wanted to calm things down and leave before it got worse. No guest should be put in that position. Entering someone’s room without permission and using intimidation or physical contact is unacceptable and not how a legitimate business should operate.
Clean place near the Design District, with a straightforward setup, a nice bed, TV, and a big closet. The kitchen was there too. It would’ve been helpful to know there are two bathrooms. One guest kept switching off the AC, which got annoying, but the owner was friendly and responsive.
Worst stay I’ve ever had. The place looked nothing like the pictures. Someone broke into my room at midnight while I was asleep, and the manager did nothing when I called. I had to leave.
The host seemed rude and unprofessional, like they didn’t want to deal with guests. They didn’t even say hello over text, and when I asked for the WiFi details, there was no reply. If I hear back, I’ll update this review.
