Rodeway Inn Miami Airport

I was working at Jackson Hospital and came from PA, so I didn’t want to pay rent in both places. This seemed reasonable, so I rented month to month and renewed on that basis. I went out of town on the first for Thanksgiving break, but had a receipt showing I’d paid for December. When I got back, housekeeping had cleared out my things. They were supposed to put them in storage, but instead they stole them, and I never got everything back. This place is a dump, the people working here are shady, and it doesn’t feel safe.

I was woken up around 12:30 because my mom couldn’t take the smell anymore, so we checked out and slept in the car. Honestly, that was a more comfortable night. In the room they moved us to, the carpet was wet and bare feet got soaked. The damp mothball smell had seeped into the bedding. Some outlets were missing their outer rings, and I couldn’t even find the WiFi network. My mom asked for our original room back, but they refused. I felt lucky that we hadn’t seen roaches or mold, based on other reviews. The second room was a disaster. The first looked okay when we checked it, but the hallway was dim, like a horror film, paint peeled off the walls and rubbed onto my fingers, and the railings wobbled enough to make me feel unsafe leaning on them. The WiFi did work at first. Earlier, we’d called for the shuttle after arriving in Florida and waited about half an hour. I figured I’d waited longer for less. My mom booked the hotel without reading the reviews. I think any positive ones must be paid for or written by employees. It needs to be reported to the health department and shut down. Bad service, poor maintenance, a bad location, and false advertising. Stay somewhere else or you’ll regret it. July 8, 2013

We only had to stay one night, thankfully. The beds were terribly flat, and just walking around the room turned the bottoms of our socks black. The front desk staff were really rude, and when we asked for extra towels, they weren’t hospitable at all. Never again, unless I’m really short on cash.

I wouldn’t come back, even if it were the last hotel available. The staff were rude and impatient, and the advertising was false. The bed was dirty and stained, the so called flat screen was only 22 inches, and there wasn’t a hair dryer. You have to put down a $10 deposit just to get an iron, so bring your own. The free movies were just old DVDs in the lobby. I’d rather sleep in my car.
