Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Midland

Walking to downtown and the Loons stadium was easy from this hotel, and the complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus. Great place!

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly, but they seemed reluctant to come to the desk even when it wasn’t busy. Once, the front desk worker seemed annoyed about helping my husband. My main issue is the payment: I booked and paid with travel miles, then got charged for both nights on my card after checkout. I left a message for the manager and didn’t hear back. When I called again, Jeremy said he’d processed a refund. The emailed receipt shows a credit, but it’s to a card I don’t own, not the one I gave them. I’m still waiting for a call, though I’m not expecting much.

There’s a nice little shopping area near downtown, within walking distance of the hotel. The front desk team and manager were very helpful, and the rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was decent, with eggs, oatmeal, waffles, turkey and pork sausage, plus hot coffee and tea.

There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself was peaceful, comfortable, and really nice. The front office staff made us feel welcome and helped with everything we asked for, and the housekeeping woman on our floor was helpful as well.
