Microtel Inn & Suites By Wyndham Midland

Walmart is right across the street, and the motel is close to the highway and Midland's main road. The rooms and location are great if you're staying in Midland, but be careful about the staff. The room was nice and clean. My only room issue was the tub looked grimy, especially the faucet handle, as if it hadn't been cleaned properly. The bigger problem was the staff. The person who checked us in announced our room number. I've worked in hotels and travel a lot, and that's a serious guest safety mistake. She could have just opened the card holder and said, "There's your room number, you're on the first floor." At checkout, the staff member wouldn't leave the back office to answer our question. She just waved us off and told us to put our keys in the bucket.

The room was clean and nice, and the hotel was really quiet. The woman working yesterday afternoon was super friendly and professional. They're remodeling the lobby, but that hasn't affected the rooms. I definitely plan to stay there again.

The staff were really helpful and kind, and they charge just $15 per pet, which is a great price for a hotel that allows dogs and cats. They also give a military discount, have a fun homemade waffle breakfast setup, and offer coffee 24 hours a day. There's no dog park or pet area, so bring bags for when your dog needs to go. If the room microwave doesn't work, there's one in the main lobby. I took off a star because the microwave, bathtub drain plug, and TV in the room were broken. The only luggage cart was broken too.

The location is super convenient, with Walmart literally a 20 step walk across the road, plenty of other food and gas stations nearby, and the interstate close too. Breakfast is honestly better than at most hotels. I love Microtel Hotels, and this one is definitely among the best. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, and the water is always hot with great pressure. I stayed here almost six months straight without any issues.
