The Westin Milwaukee

The room was comfortable and quiet, and the amenities were good. We had an easy check-in, helpful, friendly staff, and a convenient location. The only issue was that the room could have been tidier when we arrived. Better attention from housekeeping would have made this a five-star stay. Still, it was very good overall.

The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the staff were courteous and so helpful, going above and beyond for us. Elizabeth in the restaurant deserves a special shout-out. Our stay was amazing.

Amanda Gildner made planning feel manageable, even though a wedding can be a daunting task. She thought through all the details and helped our weekend feel relaxed and special, right down to bringing our gifts to the room after the reception. Our planning started with a detailed tour, followed by a dinner menu tasting and more emails than we could count. It never felt like a generic hotel reception. Abe on the banquet team showed real passion for his craft, while Maddie and the rest of the front desk staff were always cheerful and had answers for us. We can't say enough about the people at the Westin Downtown Milwaukee. We're grateful they made our wedding shine, and we'd recommend the Westin for an event or wedding because of the service they provide.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to an event at Henry Maier, and regretted it. We visit Milwaukee often and have stayed in more than half a dozen hotels here, but this was easily our worst experience. After paying a premium, we returned around 10 p.m. to find our room untouched: bed unmade, no clean towels, and a dirty bathroom. When we told the staff, they gave us blank stares and excuses, with no apology or effort to fix it. It seemed like nobody knew how to handle guests or had proper training. There were also dead bugs in the room and dirt in the nooks and crannies. For this price, that level of indifference and poor management is unacceptable. I'd stay anywhere else; this place should be avoided.
