Wyndham

I booked this because I needed somewhere near the airport, and that’s pretty much the only thing it had going for it. It did the job in that respect, but I agree with the negative reviews here. Maybe it was nice once, but it wasn’t up to the standard of other Wyndhams I’ve stayed at. It felt way overpriced, and I don’t understand how it still has a 3 Star rating on Expedia and elsewhere.

The maze-like layout made the hotel hard to navigate, and the convention area had a serious fire hazard: electricity came from small cords and power strips all connected to one outlet. If a fire chief had inspected it, they would have been fined. For the $111 a night vendor special, we got small beds that were presented as queens but were really full size, and an unpleasant smell that seemed to follow us everywhere. The outside door wouldn’t take our room keys. The food was expensive and disgusting, and there was no continental breakfast. Everything was outdated. The TV plug and cords kept shorting out, which was scary, and room service was slow. It took an hour and a half to bring a rollaway bed, and that wasn’t comfortable either.

The first thing I noticed was a strange smell. The hotel needs a serious update, and finding rooms through the complicated layout is hard. There were hardly any outlets to charge devices, and I’ve never seen so much wallpaper.

A unique hotel, and probably a good choice if you’re using the airport.
