Super 8 by Wyndham Minot Airport

I stayed there a few years back. The refrigerator was so noisy I had to unplug it, and the bedding was old. The building looks nice from outside, but my room wasn’t what I expected. I’ve stayed in rundown motels that were better maintained.

I’d forgotten I’d stayed here before when I came back a few years later to check in. The staff had been really strange on that earlier stay: I repeatedly asked them to stay out of my room and even put up the do not disturb sign, but they ignored me. The rooms were shabby and unwelcoming. They’ve lost my business for good. I’d only stay here if there were no other options in town, even if that meant sleeping in my car.

I’ve tried to give this place a chance, but no luck. My room smelled bad, the sheets made me itch, the A/C didn’t work, and there wasn’t even a remote. They also wanted a $50 room deposit. Honestly, they should be paying me to stay there. At least there was hot water. I used a lot of deodorizer, but it still smelled gross. I just hope I didn’t get bed bugs.

The dirty bedding was there when I checked in, though they did replace it with clean bedding afterward. The bathroom was covered in black mold and had sewer leaking into it. When I called the front desk to report this, a grown man entered my room with his key card, yelling at me. Nobody will tell me his name. I’ve been told he’s the owner and also that he’s the maintenance man. I had to throw away my food and clothes because of the black mold. The whole experience left me completely traumatized.
