We spent about two weeks there. The rooms are spacious, but the water pressure was poor, towels were stained, and cigarette smoke kept coming from the hallway. Construction and loud music starting at 7 a.m. right behind the hotel made it hard to sleep. Most of the staff were amazing, though a few were friendly to my husband and not to me. I understand they were frustrated about our late checkout, but on several days they waited until the last half hour before checkout to tell us the company that arranged our stay hadn't paid. That put a damper on things. The man who kept knocking and calling our room to say we needed to pay wasn't very friendly, even when I tried to explain that I didn't know what was going on either.

This has been the best hotel we've stayed at in the area, and I'd recommend it to anyone. Our suite was tidy, clean, and spacious, with a full-size fridge and stove. My wife was pleased, and I felt lucky my boss had booked such a nice room. Lily checked us in quickly and told us what the property offered, plus the best places to eat. I only had a couple of complaints: late at night, when I was locked out and needed a new card, the man working took half an hour to come to the desk. I understand it was late, but that was a long wait. My wife also nearly slipped because he mopped without putting up wet-floor signs. I could give Liv Away fewer stars, but that wouldn't feel fair.

We booked months ahead for Zootown, but when we arrived, they said our room wasn't ready and told us to come back after the concert. We did, then waited in line to check in at midnight, only to be told the room still wasn't clean and would take another hour. It was confusing to hear that they were fully booked and still cleaning rooms at midnight when they'd known about the bookings. I asked for a discount and was refused, then told to speak to the manager. When I asked for the manager's name, they wouldn't give it. The check-in guy wasn't rude, but he wasn't helpful either. That wasn't the only problem: people who booked through booking.com were told to pay again because the hotel claimed booking.com hadn't paid, even though they'd already been charged. They were told to pay upfront and sort it out with booking.com. Guests who did get checked in came back down saying they wanted to cancel because their rooms weren't clean. I wouldn't use this hotel again. Spend a little more and book the hotel next door instead.

Cael's pet fee policy felt like a very shady business practice. The website says pets cost $10 a day, but when I arrived, Cael said the first night would be $50. I showed him the website, and he said corporate had told them to charge $50 for the first night. I pointed out that the site didn't say that. He said he understood, but still had to charge it. There was no manager on duty when I asked to speak to one. They don't honor what their own website says and tried to spring an extra charge on me. I wouldn't recommend this place.

The price was $120 a night when we booked, but on arrival they charged us $300 a night and wouldn't honor the original rate. They had offered the option to pay when we got there. We also couldn't get into a room on time. The kiosk out front said early check-in was an option, but it didn't work, and we were told to come back in an hour. When we returned, still no rooms were ready, even though it was 3:45 and check-in started at 3. Later that night, they were still turning guests away at 1 a.m. because rooms supposedly weren't clean. We got only two towels, one of them dirty, and no basic toiletries.
