We booked rooms 130 and 131 for the night of July 14, 2025, and the charge went through on my credit card. We were there, so the response saying I never stayed at Red Lion Inn and that there was no record of me is wrong. We chose the Inn after an exhausting day of driving because of its good reviews, then found an uninviting room with a filthy floor. We wore slippers to keep our feet clean. The beds were made, but the bedding didn't match. The bathroom smelled odd, the shower curtain had been thrown over the rod, and folded towels were scattered around. The ceiling vent fan was missing, with wiring exposed, and the paint job was sloppy, including on things beyond the walls. It didn't feel like anyone took pride in making the room welcoming. We slept fitfully, half expecting a knock at the door. The outside of the building needed maintenance, and the neighborhood felt rundown too. The continental breakfast was available in the office the next morning, as promised, but nothing seemed fresh or inviting. There were only a couple of tables and chairs. Another disappointment, though by then I wasn't surprised. I wouldn't encourage anyone to stay there.

The exercise room was trash, whatever the rest of the stay was like. An outdoor gym might be a good answer, though I'm sure people would still complain about not having a decent indoor one. The breakfast won the day for me, with burritos, sandwiches, and other tempting items in the freezer. The corridor and paint were beautiful, the atmosphere was lovely, and the management was very effective for a two-star hotel. It was okay, and breakfast made the stay.

The room smelled of cigarettes and urine, and the wash rags were stained. The woman who was supposed to replace them never brought my friend clean ones, and she was extremely rude when asked. While I was carrying my friend's belongings to the room, a young woman I assume was housekeeping loudly talked with another man about a different room, which sounded atrocious and badly kept. The front desk woman also seemed like she didn't want to be there, speaking coldly and in a monotone at check-in. A few rooms were clearly under construction and seemed forgotten. I'd advised my friend to leave so we could find a better place, but I gave this one the benefit of the doubt and that was a huge mistake. I don't know who runs it, and I'm not going to waste time chasing a refund. I paid good money for a lesson, and I hope it goes toward cleaning the place up. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're desperate. Looking back at the money wasted, the desk woman's attitude, and the housekeeper's rudeness, I'd be upset and embarrassed to work there too.

Mike, the housekeeper, was the one bright spot in an otherwise miserable stay. He got our room back to a standard we were happy with, bringing fresh linen, clean sheets, and even toilet paper. He seemed embarrassed that we’d been let down and turned down our tip. I noticed a fresh scar on his right side while he was remaking the beds, and I hope whoever runs this place recognizes how much he cared and learns from him. My sister and I had traveled from California via Vladivostok, Russia, and this hotel was worse than a shack. The room was filthy, there were no towels, and we were brushed off when we asked for service on Friday. I’d read every review before booking and should have kept my money. Red Lion drops the ball at every level, and all those responses saying “I’m sorry we dropped the ball” ring hollow when they never had a ball to begin with. I give Mike five stars for trying to make things right. Otherwise, save your money.

Red Lions used to be a quality hotel, but this one didn’t live up to what we remember. We were told the rooms had been updated, yet ours was outdated and very dirty. I killed several large spiders on the walls and floor, the bathroom door was broken and rotten at the bottom, and water leaked around the sink faucets. We wish we could at least get part of our money back.
