Quality Inn Mobile West Tillmans Corner

We stayed for two hours because the room was so filthy I couldn't even sit down. There was a huge brown liquid stain about three feet across on the bed, more stains, a black moldy pillow, white liquid and rust on the bed and wall, and dead cockroaches and trash behind the bed. Black mold was visible all over, and the room smelled strongly of mold and mildew. There were spider webs along the ceiling, a filthy shower curtain, and furniture badly covered in red rust. The coffee maker had old grounds with green fuzzy mold. It wasn't cleaned, and nobody should have called it clean. Cheap doesn't have to mean nasty. I wasn't expecting luxury sheets, a K-cup machine, or name-brand toiletries, just a room cleaned top to bottom. If moisture is making the beds and furniture rust and causing black mold, that's a serious health concern. People shouldn't be allowed to stay there. I wouldn't let a dog stay in that room, even though there's a big “no pets” decal on the lobby window. The lobby fountain dispensers were all marked out of order, as were the washer and dryer, and we weren't told those amenities didn't work even though they were part of why we chose the place. Within 20 minutes of checking in, I took the coffee maker to the front desk so the woman could see the mold. She offered another room but didn't give me one. The room had a leaking shower setup too. Later I wondered what the fixture on the shower wall was for. It was supposed to hold shampoo and conditioner, but there was only a couple bars of soap. We had one full-size towel and two hand towels, all old, thin, and brownish. When I reported the smell and mold, she blamed my smoking-room booking and the area's humidity. She said they knew about the mold and smell and didn't care. I'm recovering from stage 3 cervical cancer and just wanted a shower and a clean bed with fresh sheets. I couldn't even sit in the room. I told the front desk clerk within 20 minutes, emailed Quality inn, and before two hours had passed, showed the pictures to a man at the counter and returned the key cards. He said nothing. I also reported them to the BBB. They later said I should bring it to their attention, even though I had. Their response says they replied, but clicking it shows nothing. Should I take this to WKRG or FOX 10 and report how hotels in the Tillman’s corner area are attracting filth and exposing people to serious health risks? The $50-$60 deposit was never put back on our card either. They tell me to contact management, but after speaking to both clerks, showing pictures, reporting it, and emailing the main office, all I get is an automated response.

We were traveling to Oklahoma to see our son graduate from the army, and I'm furious at the thought of getting sick from this place. My husband used to stay at Quality Inn hotels when he was an over-the-road truck driver, so he booked this thinking it would be decent. It wasn't. At night, maybe half the lights worked, and the room was dark. In the morning, once we could see, there was mold all over the walls and ceiling, stains on the sheets, no smoke detector, and a dirty bathroom wall. There was only about a quarter roll of toilet paper, plus a spare. I used to clean Airbnbs for a living, and motels should remove used rolls and replace them. Absolutely disgusting. My husband won't be choosing our stays again. I have a video of the ceiling, but can't upload it, so the photos will have to do. Edit: the pictures don't upload to the site, even though it says they do. 🤬

I stay in Mobile often and left this hotel an excellent review three years ago. But my last two stays, in Feb and Aug of 2025, were terrible. The place has really gone downhill. The room smelled like piss, the toilet had come loose from its floor mount and was leaking, and the bathroom light cover was on the ground, just like last time. I also had to ask for a “do not disturb” sign, an ice bucket, and toilet paper because everyone, maybe housekeeping, steals them. I reported everything right away, but nothing was done.

I came for the amenities listed on the website and was very unhappy with the stay. The room had no toilet paper, Kleenex, or iron. Laundry was out of order, and half the breakfast options weren't working. The items that did work weren't kept stocked. If all you need is a room, it's fine, but don't count on the promises being kept.
